doodlpad Create a token

Docs

You draw a candlestick chart, and that chart becomes your token's first stretch of trading history. Then the market takes over.

What doodlpad is

It's a launchpad. This site launches on Robinhood Chain (chain id 4663): every token gets its own Uniswap v4 pool, and all of them share one hook, which keeps everyone but the painter out of the pool while the drawing is played out.

How a drawing turns into price history

Nobody can trade the token at first except one address, the painter. The painter makes real swaps in the pool, one candle at a time at your candle speed, aiming each swap at the open, high, low and close you drew. So the chart people see is made of actual trades, on chain, with timestamps.

You pick the candle speed when you set up the launch. The candle speed and the number of candles set the duration, how long the paint runs.

  • 1 second per candle: the only candle speed you can pick right now.
  • 1 minute, 5 minutes and 15 minutes per candle: listed in the form as soon, and not selectable yet.

The painter pays no fee while it works. Once the last candle is in, the pool opens to everyone and the painter has no say in where the price goes after that.

Drawing your chart

Hit Create to open the wizard. The first four wizard steps have a link to the manual designer if you would rather draw the chart yourself.

With the wizard

  1. Your agent. Name your agent and pick its look.
  2. Your chart idea. Describe the chart in words, or add a picture for the agent to cut out.
  3. Draw. Press Draw. Your first drawing is free; after that each one is paid from your balance. Draw again until you like one, then pick it.
  4. Your token. Name, ticker, description, links and the logo.
  5. Launch settings. The candle speed, the quote asset, the max market cap and an optional dev buy.
  6. Review. Check it over and press Get the price.
  7. Launch. Press Pay (it reads Launch with balance when your balance covers the price) and the painting starts. You can watch it on the same screen.

In the manual designer

  1. Open Chop and pick a cut: flat, slant, freehand or curve. The tools shape the candle bodies; turn on Wicks (V) to shape the wicks instead.
  2. Carve the block down until it looks right. A drag cuts the bottom of the candles. To cut the top, tap the Bottom button in the toolbar so it reads Top (on a computer, right-drag cuts the top, or press X). Drawing works with a finger on phones and tablets.
  3. Drag the two blue handles at the top so only the part you want gets launched, then press Continue in the wizard. The wizard opens at Your token with your drawing, and you carry on from there.

The other tools in the manual designer:

  • Fill fills the range between the two handles back up with candles or wicks, or starts over.
  • Warp flips or mirrors everything between the two handles.
  • Size makes candles taller or shorter, and chooses which ones.
  • Image loads a picture, cuts the candles to its shape, and locks it in place once it's positioned.
  • Undo and Redo step back and forward through your changes (Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+Y).
  • Import opens a project file you saved.
  • Export saves the numbers, the picture, or a project file to come back to.

A launch has at most 400 candles; a longer drawing is merged down to 400.

The top of the canvas is the market cap you set, $1,000,000 unless you change it (Max market cap on the Launch settings step). The bottom of your drawing sits at the launch floor, a market cap of $3,000.

Your balance

Your balance is ETH you keep on doodlpad, tied to your wallet address. It is not the ETH in your wallet.

  • Drawings. Your first drawing is free. After that each drawing costs about $1 (a picture cut-out a little less), paid from your balance. The wizard shows the live price before you draw. A drawing that fails is not charged.
  • Adding to it. Press your balance next to the wallet button on any page, then Add balance, and send ETH from your wallet. The Draw step of the wizard also has Add balance once your free drawing is used.
  • Launches. Your balance is applied first to your next launch.
  • Refunds. Money that cannot be used, like a payment that arrives after its quote expired or a dev buy that cannot go through, is added to your balance.
  • Withdraw. Press your balance next to the wallet button on any page, then Withdraw, and sign the request in your wallet (a signature only, no gas). The balance is sent back to the wallet you connected.

Fees

Every swap after launch pays 1.25%, split three ways. It's taken from what the swap works out to after the pool has done its math, so the fee itself doesn't move the price.

Goes toShare of each swap
The token's creator0.50%
The contributor vault0.35%
The platform0.40%
Total1.25%

The split is the same for every token launched on doodlpad: the creator gets 0.50%, the contract caps the creator's share there, and it never changes after launch. The vault pays out to the people who funded doodlpad early. Every share, the vault's included, is paid in whatever the swap pays out: your token on a buy, the quote asset on a sell. Nothing is swapped on the pool to pay a fee. The pool itself has no LP fee.

What the creator controls

You pick the name, the ticker, a description, the logo, your links, your agent's name (shown with the token) and the quote asset the token trades against. If you drew in the manual designer and skipped Your agent, the ticker is the agent name. The logo is always your drawing in a frame you colour: pick a part (Border, Background, Outline or Fill), then a colour, with an optional gradient background and an effect. There is no logo upload. The logo studio is on the Your token step, with a live preview, and Review has Edit logo.

Dev buy is optional. Enter an amount in ETH (up to 1). It is added to the launch price, and the moment trading opens we buy your token with it and send the tokens to your wallet. If the buy cannot go through, the amount comes back as balance. Leave it empty and nothing is bought. A dev buy needs WETH as the quote asset. With USDG or a stock, leave it empty.

The quote asset comes from a list the factory holds on chain. Right now that is WETH, USDG and four tokenized stocks: AAPL, TSLA, NVDA and SPY. The form reads the list from the factory and greys out any asset that has no price set yet, so you can't pick one that would fail. Prices are set on chain and change, so check the form for the current one.

Your cut is 0.50% of every swap on your token, the same for every token. It is written into the pool when the token launches, and after that nobody can change it, not you and not us. On a buy you get your own token, on a sell the quote asset. Usually it lands in the same transaction; if not, it is held and paid on the next fee sweep.

Launch day

Get the price gives you a quote, not a launch. The quote covers the gas for every candle plus a platform margin, and the price in ETH is shown before you pay. Any balance you have is used first. It holds for 30 minutes, then you press Get a new price for a new one. Pay it from the wallet you connected, and the launch starts once the payment confirms on chain. Nothing launches before that.

Several launches can paint at the same time. If every painting slot is busy, yours waits in line, and the quote shows your place before you pay. At one candle a second, 300 candles take about 5 minutes, plus any wait.

Then the token is deployed with a fixed supply of 1,000,000,000 and its pool is created at the launch floor, closed to everyone but the painter. The painter works through your candles, one at a time at your candle speed, and you can watch the count go up on the same screen.

When the drawing is finished, the platform adds the rest of the supply to the pool as liquidity and trading opens. From there it's a normal market.

The liquidity cannot be pulled. The whole supply is minted to the factory contract, and the factory puts it into the pool as one position that it holds itself. The factory has no function that removes that position or sends the tokens anywhere else, so nobody can take the liquidity out, not the creator and not us. The creator gets no tokens of their own apart from a dev buy, which is a normal buy in the pool.

Token page

Every token has its own page at doodlpad.fun/token/ followed by its address. Open it from any card on the home page. While the drawing is being painted you can watch the chart fill in there, candle by candle. Once trading opens you can swap from the page, see the trades and holders, and follow the links to the Explorer (Blockscout) and the Chart (DexScreener).

The factory deploys each token and opens its pool. The hook is the one every pool made by that factory uses. The painter is the only address that can trade while a drawing plays out.

Tokens launched before block 88720590 were made by the earlier factory, hook and painter:
