FAQ

Buying

Is the chart real, or just a picture?

It's real. Every candle was made by actual swaps in the pool, and you can look each one up on the Explorer (Blockscout), linked from the token page. They were placed to match a drawing, which is the whole idea. Where it goes after that is up to the market.

Who made those early trades?

The painter, the only address allowed to trade while the drawing is played out. It doesn't pay the hook's swap fee. It stops when the last candle is done.

Can the liquidity be pulled?

No. The whole supply is minted to the factory contract, which puts it into the pool as one position it holds itself, and the factory has no function that removes it. Nobody can take the liquidity out, not the creator and not us. The creator gets no tokens of their own apart from a dev buy, which is a normal buy in the pool.

Can I buy while it's being painted?

No. Until the last candle is in, the pool turns away every swap except the painter's. It opens to everyone once the drawing is finished.

Where do I watch and trade a token?

On its token page: open any card on the home page. You can watch the chart being painted there, then swap once trading opens. It also links to the Explorer (Blockscout) and the Chart (DexScreener).

What does a trade cost?

1.25% of each swap: 0.50% to the token's creator, 0.35% to the contributor vault and 0.40% to the platform. It's the same on every token. There's no LP fee on top.

Can the creator raise the fee later?

No. Every token launched on doodlpad pays the creator 0.50%; the contract caps the creator's share there, it is written into the pool when the token launches, and it never changes after that. The platform's and the vault's cuts can't be changed either.

Which chain is this on?

Robinhood Chain, chain id 4663. Tokens trade on Uniswap v4: each token has its own pool, and every pool uses the same shared hook, which keeps everyone but the painter out while the drawing is played out.

Creating

Do I need to be good at drawing?

Not really. The Create wizard has an agent draw one from a sentence you type or a picture you add. If you'd rather draw it yourself, the manual designer hands you a block of candles and you cut it down with the Chop tools (flat, slant, freehand or curve) until you like the shape; turn on Wicks to shape the wicks. A launch has at most 400 candles; a longer drawing is merged down to 400.

What does a drawing cost?

Your first drawing is free. After that each drawing costs about $1 (a picture cut-out a little less), paid from your balance. The wizard shows the live price before you draw. A drawing that fails is not charged.

What is my balance?

ETH you keep on doodlpad, tied to your wallet address. It pays for drawings and is applied first to your next launch. Press your balance next to the wallet button on any page to add to it or withdraw it (a signature only, no gas). The Draw step of the wizard also has Add balance once your free drawing is used. Refunds, like a dev buy that cannot go through, go into it.

I drew it myself. Where do I name the token?

In the wizard. When the drawing is ready, press Continue in the wizard in the manual designer: the wizard opens at Your token with your drawing, where you set the name, ticker, description, links and logo. Launch settings, Review and Launch follow. If you skipped Your agent, the ticker is the agent name.

How long does a launch take?

One candle a second right now, which is the only candle speed the form offers, so 300 candles take about 5 minutes. Slower candle speeds (1, 5 and 15 minutes) show as soon. Several launches can paint at the same time. If every painting slot is busy, yours waits in line, and the quote shows your place before you pay. The Launch settings step and Review show the exact duration.

What do I earn?

0.50% of every swap on your token, the same on every token. On a buy you get your own token, on a sell the quote asset. Usually it lands in the same transaction; if not, it is held and paid on the next fee sweep.

What does it cost to launch?

Get the price gives you a quote in ETH that covers the gas for every candle plus a platform margin. Any balance you have is used first. Nothing launches until you pay the rest from your wallet and the payment confirms on chain. The quote holds for 30 minutes.

What is a dev buy?

An optional first buy of your own token, in ETH. It is paid with the launch and bought for you the moment trading opens, and the tokens go to your wallet. If it cannot go through, the amount comes back as balance. Leave it empty to skip it. A dev buy needs WETH as the quote asset. With USDG or a stock, leave it empty.

Which quote assets can I pick?

WETH, USDG, or a tokenized stock: AAPL, TSLA, NVDA or SPY. The list in the form is read from the factory contract, so it only offers assets a launch will accept. Anything approved but without a price set yet shows up greyed out. Prices are set on chain and move.
